Event Description

Friends,

As you are probably aware, the recent Distinguished Eucator’s report highlighted challenges in the City of Rochester’s educational system. Over the past five years, I have worked with the Superintendent and our community partners to improve preschool education, and I have worked with School #17 to provide wrap-around services to make it a true community school, serving not only the students but also the surrounding neighbors. The Distinguished Educator’s Report highlighted the success of these mayoral partnerships and the significant improvements we have seen in these areas.

I would like to invite you to join me for a Community Input Session to discuss how you believe City Hall can help Rochester’s children succeed. The meeting will be held on Monday, December 17 at 3:00 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers (30 Church Street).

Please RSVP to my chief of staff, Alex Yudelson at Alex.Yudelson@cityofrochester.gov or (585) 428-6271. Please also feel free to share this invitation with your organizations and networks.

If you cannot attend the meeting in person, you may also contact Alex Yudelson to share your thoughts about where you believe our community should go from here. Please also note that I will be hosting a Telephone Town Hall Meeting on December 18 at 6:30 PM. You may contact Alex if you wish to register.

It is my sincere goal to get as many parents and community members involved in this important conversation. Mayoral partnership is important to seeing our children succeed, and I
want to hear your input on how City Hall can help. Frederick Douglass once said, “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” By working together, we can build strong children in Rochester.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Lovely A. Warren
Mayor
