Spelling Bee Update

Tom Hogrefe from the fraternity provided an update on the arrangements for the Spelling Bee. Hoyt Hall has been secured for the Bee, two gyms have been secured for the morning, and lunch will be provided at the Sigma Epsilon Phi house. There will be brothers positioned to welcome the bus and families at the U of R library at 10:00, and brothers will be available at school 19 to transport any stragglers. Tom was to verify that Paul Burgett was able to reserve the time to give the keynote address.

We need to update the program to provide to the families for directions to Hoyt Hall, the gym, the library and the fraternity house.

We decided that we would have the award ceremonies following each grade competition, starting with Grade 3. We will take group pictures at the end and have Dana Miller request that families stay to the end. The bags, which would include programs, pencils, erasers, pens, markers and note books will be presented to all attendees including any alternates who did not compete. Material will be provided to the fraternity the week of April 3^rd. The $20 awards to the students who competed will be distributed to the schools to present to those students at the school.

Dan agreed to co-ordinate obtaining the information from the winners in each grade level to provide to the Community Foundation. Tom will supply 6 brothers to collect the information and return it to Dan.

John was to revise the press release and to provide it to the various organizations for their customization. John was to send invitations to the superintendent, principals and political folks.

Update on School 16 schedule

No new news. The next BAC meeting is March 15.
