When you signed up for a www.Location19.org account you provided profile information which included your email.  That is the email to which notices go from Location19 or from friends who send you messages through your Location19 message service.

IF YOU GET A NEW EMAIL ADDRESS, YOU SHOULD UPDATE YOUR EMAIL ON RECORD WITH LOCATION19.ORG

BEFORE YOU DISABLE YOUR OLD EMAIL ACCOUNT!

To update your email on record with Location19.org:

  1. Sign in to your account.  (You can do that using the email address you used to set up your account and your Location19 password, or by using the Facebook button in the sign in screen.  If you have forgotten which email you used, contact me.  I can check.)
  2. Once signed in, the top box in the right column will then show your name.  In that box click Settings.
  3. In the "My Settings" page that appears, your emails is shown under "Profile" and is followed by a Change option. If you need to use a different email click Change.
  4. You will be prompted to enter your new email twice followed by your Location19 password.
  5. You can also update you picture while here as well as other profile info.
  6. When done, be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save or your changes will be lost.

What if you have forgotten your password but can still check mail at your old email address?

  • If you are a member and need to change your email address but you have forgotten your password you can use the "forgot your password" link on the sign in screen. This will send a reset password link to the current email address you have on file. Once you receive the temporary password from that email, you will be able to sign into the network and change your email address and password to the new ones you want to use.

What if you have forgotten your password and the old email address can no longer be accessed?

  • If you do not have access to the current email address on file any longer, send me an email or call me (jboutet@frontiernet.net, 585 328-4271) and I can contact the Ning help desk on your behalf and their Policy & Safety team will be able to help get you into the network so that you can change your email address and password.  This can take a few days so do it now if that is your situation.  Don't wait until you need to post something.  Also, please don't start a second account with your new email unless you are willing to have the first one deleted.  It will not be possible to update the email on your old account once the new one is started with that new email.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Note that the Daily Email Digest address is completely separate from the above process.  Just subscribe using your new address in the box near the top of the left column on the Main page.  If you still have an old digest email that went to the old email address, you can click "unsubscribe now" at the bottom of that mailing to get you old email off that FeedBurner list.

Hope this helps.  Contact me if you have questions.
