We are trying to stay on top of new neighbors moving i so we can welcome them. We will be looking for volunteers to make this happen and to be greeters. If you have knowledge of new neighbors moving in please let us know. You can contact the organizer, Doreen Scanlan-Joyner at dscanlanjoyner@yahoo.com

Hello! I'm interested in supporting this, but with a very busy schedule, I'm afraid I might drop the ball, but I'm willing to do what I can to help! Let me know how we get started!
Doreen, You may want to look through the 19th Ward Picture Album and Video Links page which has thousands of pictures, most from events in the 19th ward. you should be able to download whatever you want from there. In particular look through 2003 05 08 Spring in the 19th Ward, 2005 06 10 19th Ward Community Garden Tour - 2005, 2009 10 10 House Tour at Marilyn and Cy's, 2010 02 27 Candlelight Dinner 2010 at Mitzie and Tom's, 2010 09 11 Barton Street Block Party.
come brainstorm with us at Boulder on Mon the 23rd at 7
This is a great idea to help welcome new neighbors to our neighborhood. I know it's been done before, but I hope this time it can be sustained with input from those who were with the group the first time around. Connecting with the Housing Committee and the 19th Ward Community Association itself are good places to start.
It would be good to make sure your group works closely with the 19th Ward Housing Committee if you are not already doing so. Much of what they are doing can feed into your group's activities and and the contacts you make with new neighbors can bring new neighbors on-board with the goals of the Housing Committee.
Thanks for getting this initiative going Doreen. This sounded like a great idea when you mentioned it at the 19WCA Delegates Council and setting up a group here helps give it visibility. Hopefully similar efforts will or are going on in other neighborhoods and we can share ideas.
