Ravenwood Garden will be the site of a We Care "Mini Clean Sweep" on Thursday, September 22, starting at 9:00 am.  Come out to help pick up litter, pull some weeds, and get the garden ready for fall!

People took pictures of the garden work over the weekend!  Please post them - special thanks to the City of Rochester and the Rochester Blossoms program for supplying the annuals.  We finished the planting yesterday morning - thanks to Landy, Sheila, Dan & John for pitching in!

Anyone nearby with a mower to help keep the grass under control?

John is missing a major benefit of weeding if not getting into touch with dirt (smile,) as studies show there is a major benefit in gardening with contact with soil.  It makes you feel good!  Not kidding.  There have even been articles in the paper urging kids to garden, adults to garden, as there are great things in soil that in contact with your skin that really are beneficial.  If anyone knows more, let us know.

I'll be back out, planting (and weeding) on Sunday, May 22, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am (weather permitting!).  All volunteers are welcome!  Great job today - thanks to all who came to help!

I don't know how John Boutet managed to weed a large section without getting any dirt on him, however....I usually feel as though I'm taking away half of the dirt with me!
