Thanks John for the great market summary! The Westside Farmers Market did indeed survive a very rainy Tuesday as its opening day. Someone mentioned at the management tent that a rainy wedding means good luck. We saw all that rain as a very auspicious start for our market! It was great to see so many people come out in spite of the rain and then when the sky was clearer. We look forward to seeing you all next week!

The first day at the Southwest Farmers Market started off rainy but cleared up for the last 2 hours. With the sun came the customers who had been looking forward to this day. We got there around 5:15 just as the rain was letting up.

We got some delicious chicken and spinach sausage at the Demetrio food cart! We also stopped by to get some Joe Bean coffee... brewed one cup at a time at Joe Bean Coffee Roasters. It was very good. This week for entertainment Katarina Schwarz was playing the flute. She was great.

By the time we left at 6:20 the sun was shining and many people had come to enjoy the opening day of the Westside Farmers Market.

A link to thee Kodak Gallery album with all the pictures from this event is at:

When we arrived est end of the parking lot was flooded and in the process of being drained.

Katarina Schwarz was was great on the flute.

The Grow Green students were selling flowers and green tomatoes they grew in the greenhouse.

By the time we left the sun was shining and people were enjoying the market.
