Southwest Garden Group

Garden Ponds

Do you have, or have you been thinking about adding, a pond to your garden?  You'll be happy to know that there's a local group called the Genesee Valley Pond and Koi Club (GVPKC) where you can meet and talk with other people who share that interest.  We meet on the first Friday of every month at 6:30, at the Rural/ Metro Conference room at 811 West Avenue, 14611.  (How convenient is that for us SouthWest Rochester residents?)

Members grow koi and goldfish, as well as many kinds of pond plants, and they have an extremely  broad base of experience.  The topic on April 1 will be the opening your pond and other water features in the Spring . We'll review techniques for safely bringing your fish out of hibernation, thinning and repotting your lilies, lotus tubers, etc.  Bring questions with you.

If you've been keeping fish for a while, or maybe have thought about it, this is the place to be.  I hope to see you there on the First.

Rural/Metro is a secure building, so come in through the main entrance and ring the bell in the lobby for admittance.
