Growers Tip!
Orchids grow best when the 'stressors' we impose on them are reduced. Some orchids are more forgiving than others: At 27 yrs my Coelogyne tomentosa is practically bullet-proof. But others can be more short-lived if harsh conditions are imposed upon them. Our jobs as orchid-growers is to monitor plants and find out what their requirements are so that we can flower them to their greatest capacity. Our website provides growing conditions for many varieties http://Marlowsorchids.com Warm growing orchids are especially suseptible to cold damage in the NE US during cold dark winters. Try to keep them in warmer rooms away from 'cold' window sills. Most like temps in the mid 60's as lows. If you temps dip below 60 degrees in winter more than 3 nights a week consider growing your plants on the 'dryer' side. This is especially true with Phalaenopsis species.
