Thanks for signing-up. I've been going through featuring local missing persons whose family was at the January 28th meeting on the banner and including links to the missing in the box on the left of the Main page. Now that you are a member of Location19, when you sign-in, you can post to the Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section of Location19 and you can join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there.
Being a group member lets you post to the group and also permits you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself. Look through the various groups for ideas of what would work best for a Missing Persons Group. I'm hopping that Nicole, you and other family members of the missing can put together a dynamite group on Location19 to keep the needed work going to look for loved ones. One thing you should be aware of about Location19 is that everything posted is open to the world. Google and other web indexing services can see everything posted and index it. Consequently anyone on the face of the earth can Google it. That can be a plus when you are trying to get the word out about something. We may only have a little over 400 members at present vs. millions on Facebook but I just Googled 19th Ward Crime Alert, a group that one of our 19th Ward residents started on Facebook, and Google references to it are cited on Location19 and other open sites but Google can't index what is on Facebook itself.
Be sure your email preferences are set for you to receive email notices. I think by default they are but you can check the Location19 Email Preferences instruction page to be sure.
It's a good idea to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site.
