Tell us about yourself:
The 19th Ward Community Association is a group of neighbors striving to preserve the residential character of the neighborhood. The Association fosters and encourages mutual cooperation in a multi-cultural community. We are a member-supported, volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization.

Our mission is "To create a conscious multi-racial community where individual and cultural differences are celebrated and where people share a sense of community."

Since its beginning, the Association has provided a structure for organizing the efforts of residents; from representing the interests of residents, to orchestrating the city's largest and longest running PAC-TAC.

The Association strives to bolster the neighborhood feel of the Ward through many activities. These include supporting various neighborhood gardens, organizing graffiti removal and informing members on various community activities through the Update 19 newsletter.

The Association keeps a close eye on zoning issues presented at City Hall and communicates issues concerning the 19th Ward to its members. The Association provides resources and expertise to help residents of the Ward better understand city services and cut through the red tape of city and county governments. We work closely with the Rochester Police Department, Rochester City School District, and other government and community organizations to promote the interests of our residents.

    Hello to the 19WCA,
Welcome to Location19. We are delighted to have you join this site. I look forward to your setting up a 19WCA Group in which you can post 19WCA news and through which you can receive community input. If all the neighborhoods in the SouthWest Quadrant follow suit, it will make it easy for all visitors to Location19 to get the full picture of what is going on and will help the neighborhoods share ideas on how to improve life in their areas.

Don't hesitate to contact Marian or me with questions or suggestions.

What an excellent idea in joining Location19! It can help serve as a "single source" for all community residents, throughout the SouthWest. Will really help strengthen everyone's efforts!
