Welcome to Location 19, Cameron,

I am the new President of the 19th Ward Community Association, and if you are not already a member of the 19th WCA, I would encourage you to call Ann in our office at 328-6571.

Like you, I am concerned about the problems in our neighborhood, and I intend to do my best to do something about it.   Too often, expressions of (very legitimate) concerns have been dismissed as being "negative" or with claims that "these problems happen everywhere."  However, many of us believe that avoiding problems is negative, and honestly trying to reduce problems is positive.  While there are indeed problems everywhere, the reality is that we simply have too many problems.

Then 19thWCA and our neighborhood need more people to focus on resolving problems.  Even if you are not able to join as a paid/voting member, every resident of the neighborhood is considered a member.  We want to hear everyone's concerns, and we encourage everyone to be involved in whatever way possible.

Hi Cameron,

Welcome to Location19. I'm delighted to see you joining us.

I hope things were quiet on your corner New Years eve.  Marian and I drove by your place on our way home from Holley's around midnight and saw two young men dressed in black strolling the sidewalk across from your house, one ten foot behind the other, and both texting on their phones.  One can hope they were just texing New Year wishes to friends, or that they are part of a neighborhood watch you have started in your area.  If not, be alert and let your neighbors know.

I hope you will find this site interesting, useful and fun. If you haven't already please subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site. Without it you will miss the latest activity if you are away from the site for a few days. Also please post your picture. We are trying to make this and online town meeting place where we come together to share ideas and concerns.  Everything we can do to get to know each other better is important.

Now that you are a member you can join any of the many groups that are on Location19.  Look them over and see which ones interest you.  Being a group member not only lets you post to the group but it will also permit to receive email notifications that group members can send out to the group about events, reminders and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.

Have fun and don't hesitate to call Marian or me if you have questions.

John
