Hi Yang,
I'm delighted to have you join Location19. The U of R, while mostly physically on the other side of the river from the SouthWest Quadrant, is part of many of the organizations in our area such as the SouthWest Common Council and Sector 4 CDC because of the many ties the University and its students and faculty have with this area. I hope you will enjoy your participation in Location19 and can give us some interesting input of your perspective, as a graduate student from abroad, on life in Rochester and the University.
Be sure to subscribe to the Daily Email digest in the upper left of the Main page to be sure you don't miss new postings on the site. Without a list of new postings to the site, you will miss most of the activity. The Latest Activity columns on the left side of the page serves that purpose but when there is a lot of activity, items will scroll off the column before you see then. This is particularly true such as for when you are traveling and and not checking the site for a few days.
I also encourage you to post your picture since it helps everyone in this online community get to know each other better. Instructions for posting your picture can be found in : How to Post Your Picture - It's easy! in the Location19 Help Forum. I hope you recognized Buddy AmStaff's picture. He joined recently to give the Location19 community input on what life is like for our canine members of the SouthWest Quadrant. Granted he's a little hard to understand sometimes. His English is not very good, but what can you expect from a pitbull ;-)
Have a great trip home for the holidays. I look forward to seeing you next year.
John
