The Treasure Tour event held by the Thurston-Brooks Merchants group and co-sponsored by the 19th Ward Community Association, with help from the CDC, was a great positive step forward in bringing some life back into the area. Of course, the weather did not hurt! This is the kind of collaboration the neighborhood needs. It was a first effort, but if repeated every year, people will look for it and more will participate. What a great kick-off!
It was also perfect timing to introduce the Sector 4 CDC Report to the Community, which highlighted the important improvements accomplished and planned. Great job! Teaming up with the U of R for design and printing also was a good thought, as the brochure is very impressive; good quality.
Kudos to all involved for the whole event, and hope to see more from the TBMA in the future. We all wish to support our local businesses. Special note to Holley's --- the umbrellas on Brooks with sidewalk tables will really help attract people this summer. Keep up the good work, all.
