Hi Lauren,

I'm delighted you have joined Location19 and look forward to working with you on school issues.  This site's mission is,"Location19 strives to bring SW Quadrant residents together. This site is made for anyone who wants to collaborate around the Quadrant."   This is very much what we need when it comes to getting teachers and all school staff to be united with parents and the community to insure that a stable and nurturing environment exists in the school for the benefit of the students.

I don't know how much you have navigated around in Location19, but be sure to sign-in when you do.  When you are signed in you see all the options you have now that you are a member. Also when signed-in, you can see other members who are currently signed in and they can see you which makes it easy to chat if you want.

Not only are there many discussions in the main Forum but most of the 69 groups have Discussion Forums of their own.  Fore instance the SW Education Forum group is very active and I urge you to Join the group by clicking on the group SW Education Forum to get to it's page then clicking on the + Join SW Education Forum button next to your name under the header image.  We use this group to document the activities we are involved in while fighting to improve our schools.  In the Pages box under the Members box you will find some important links.  The SWCC Education Committee Minutes Index  will help you easily find Minutes from any of the SWCC Education Committee meetings.  All these minutes are in the group's Discussion Forum but they are interspersed with other discussion posts.  The index presents links to them in reverse chronological order.  Open the link to the August 5, 2013 meeting and check out the video of your teachers talking passionately about their school.  When you join a group, other people with similar interests may request to Friend you which makes it easier to share information or interest.  Also being a member of the group makes it easy for you to share information with everyone in the group by using the Send Message to Group button above the Members box.

To help you navigate and know what you can do, here is a link to information on how to use this site: Introduction to Location19

I look forward to your participation. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Marian or me at 328-4271.
