Can't remember the glassblock window guy I used few years ago. Thought he lived in 19th. Does anyone have referral?

I also used Rochester Glass Block, and was very pleased with the quality of the work.  Price was reasonable, in line with others.

hellen- i really appreciate your comment about the 'inner circle' and feeling as if one's question/concern is ignored if you're not part of the 'circle'. That 'theme' comes up quite a bit in our neighborhood from time to time and is something we all may want to pay ore attention to. We can talk up the neighborhood all we want but when there are people who feel that they don't belong or aren't valued or ignored then it's just talk and not really a sense of 'community'.

Thanks for asking about the glass block windows- we're also thinking about getting some installed so it's good to have some referrals to follow up on.

Hi Hellen

I posted your Question on the 19th ward crime alert page and within a few minutes got the following replies.

Lori Wilson we used Rochester Glass Block and with good results.

Brion Swanson American Glass Block. The did all our basement windows quickly and reasonably priced. We had 7 or 8 windows replaced with 4 tilt-in vents and one dryer vent for less than $1,000 as I recall - it was about $100 per window I think.

Mary Reese I agree with Chris. Becker did mine.... a nice young man

By the lack of a response to my post, I gather that no one on this site has ever used a glassblock installer or no one gives a hoot! Sometimes it seems that unless you are a part of the so-called inner circle, you get no regard. Not to worry..I'll find one.
