Event Description

The Education Committee of the SW Common Council will meet the 4th Wednesday, April 24th. The meeting is from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Arnett Library.

Agenda:

  1. Introductions
  2. Latest developments on the budget. Check out:  Community schools, RCSD budget 2019, RCSD Budget 2019 CA, what's left out?
  3. Community Schools: Local Busing Initiative , Wade Norwood, meeting with RCSD Superintendent.
  4. Building City/neighborhood/agency connections with our schools:
    * Meeting with Daisy Rivera Algarin, City of Rochester NSC Director, April 18.
    * Neighborhood Presidents Meeting April 22
    * State of the City - Mayor Warren - Sch 17 April 23. Setting up meeting.
  5. CET meeting update - School 10, 16, 19, Joseph C. Wilson Foundation Academy
  6. School 29, 44, and Wilson Commencement - Update
  7. OACES, CFC YouthBuild - Update
  8. Walk-in  Items

Our plans to have this month Dr. Cecilia Golden, Deputy Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, joining us to talk about the "Distinguished Educator's Action Plan for Culturally Responsible Instruction Strategy, Parent Engagement" are being rescheduled to hopefully May 22nd.
