19th Ward Community Association
Housing Committee
Meeting Notes
February 1, 2012
The Meeting convened at 11:00am.
Present: Lee Krist, Peter Evans, June Rose, Donna Sarnacki, John Boutet, Toni Orlati, Barbara Sullivan
The updated house drawing was reviewed and more changes made. John will updated the drawing and send it out as rev 4.
The Tote Team showed the forms they are filling out to determine chronic violations of totes being left out. Rounds of an area are done Monday. Form filled out by team will be turned in weekly. Inspector will send out two warning letters and there is a fine with the third.
A Modified Housing Survey Form for recording violations was reviewed. It has more room for recording information. When needed, a Severity Report is then filled out for each house with violations with a detailed description of the violations.
Peter and Lee will ask DeWain if he has checked with Adam McFadden about 96 Chili.
Lee reviewed time sheet that each person will have to fill out so we have info for grants etc.
Marian will post the code rules on Location19.
John Burch will be contacted for posting articles in Update 19
Jackie will be contacted to send article out as a letter.
Day Care issues were discussed. An owner or tenant can have up to five kids in a daycare center they run in their home before there is a zoning violation in R2 area. They need variance to have more. Need permits if house modifications are made.
So far the housing committee has been concentrating on Chili for house code violations and that work will be used as a example for other streets.
Jeff West, code inspector supervisor, is coming to the Feb. 15th 11 to noon meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 12:15 PM
