19th Ward Community Association
Housing Committee
Meeting Notes
January 11, 2012

Meeting convened at 11:05 AM

Present: John Boutet, Marian Boutet, Peter Evans, DeWain Feller, Lee Krist, Toni Orlati, June Rose, Donna Sarnacki

Work Kits were distributed.

96 Chili Avenue was discussed. The structure is in very bad condition. Two architects have assessed it with differing opinions on whether or not it can be salvaged. The architect who believes it can be salvaged is working with Adam McFadden. The committee discussed the situation and decided to invite Adam and his colleague to address the committee to provide an updated status, timeline, funding possibilities, etc. [DeWain] The committee will subsequently vote by March 1 on its recommendation to City Hall regarding disposition of the building (salvage or raze).

Peter reviewed usage of the forms, using Chili Avenue as an example.

Marian will e-mail the URL for the Property Information Website to the committee.

Peter will create a document detailing how to use the Work Kits.

Marian will contact Joan Roby-Davison about adding information for grants from the Episcopalian diocese to her list of “RESOURCES FOR HOME REHABILITATION & REPAIR: SW Quadrant.” This document will be included with the mailing to property owners.

Peter, Lee and June will survey Thorndale Terrace.

All inquiries to the 19th Ward Community Association office regarding housing will be forwarded to Peter.

A group will meet on Friday, January 13, to set up a room upstairs with the Housing Committee’s files.

Meeting was adjourned at 12:10 PM
