19th Ward Community Association
Housing Committee
Wednesday Meeting Notes for Posting
January 2, 2013
final

The Meeting convened at 11:06 am.

Present: John B, Toni O, June R, Donna S

The minutes for 12/19 meeting were reviewed, minor corrections made and minutes were approved.

We reviewed the City's Privately Owned Vacant Demolition Cases in SW Quadrant 12/20/12 list that Toni had obtained from Gary and had on the J.T.house@hotmail.com account.

  • We will survey the Ward and list houses that look vacant and compare that list to the City's.
  • If it is not on the City's list we will check how long it is vacant.
  • If it has been vacant more than TBD time or looks in bad condition we will ask city to add it to their list.

Toni and June will be starting toter and code violations surveying on major arteries (Route 1 West, Chilli, Arnett, Brooks and part of GPB that runs east-west). They will then do Rout 2. Lee and Donna will not be doing totes as previously planned.

Lee and Donna will be starting to survey of the whole Ward for vacant houses.

Marian will contact person whose name she got from Joan Roby-Davison who is w/ fire department for discussion on vacant houses to tear down. We would like that person to come in here to talk to us in January.

The letter written at the last meeting by Toni then reworded to more common American English by Mark and them Marian, was reviewed and highly disapproved of by June and Toni. They had not read the rewrite that had been sent out by Marian on December 23rd John Burch and our committee. Toni will rewrite it again.

Meeting with John DeMott will probably be set February some time and we will probably meet in the CDC office.

Dates for next meetings will be posted on Location 19 and also given to Jackie to send out to 19WCA list.

We will ask Marian provide instruction for accessing pictures from 95 and 07 off the City's site.

Meeting adjourned at 12:45 pm.
