I went to last week's FMP meeting at Sch 22 and this week's FMP meeting at Wilson put on by the RCSD with Mike Schmidt, Chief of School Operations, and most of the Rochester Joint Schools Construction Board present to run through the current plans.
They basically reported they were going to lead off the Phase II work by refurbishing School 7, East HS, Monroe HS and School 16. Schols 7 & 16 are going to be gutted as much as needed and rebuild as PreK-6 so that they are up to current standards and eliminate the portables for PreK. To do the complete jobs at 7 and 16 in one step will require the District get the State to agree we may significantly exceed the current SED Maximum Cost Allowance (MCA). The Phase II renovations at East and Monroe will be a continuation of the work started under Phase I.
For each school input & comments from the District, the City, & Stakeholders is required. They currently hope to submit plans for District Approval in March 2016 and to the State in April 2016.
The PowerPoint they presented can be found at link PHASE II COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE.
