Hi Pamela,

I'm always delighted to hear a new member is interested in working for the betterment of their community.  That is what Location19 is here for.  Welcome aboard.

Now that you are a member, when you sign-in you can post to the Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section of Location19 and you can join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there.  Being a group member lets you post to the group and also permits you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.   Two groups I want to draw your attention to are the  SW Education Forum and  SWCC Communications Committee.  Right now the SW Education Committee is heavily involved with School 16 but it is just a matter of time before similar efforts are going to be needed in other neighborhoods and you have school 2 just down Champlain St.  In the Communications Committee group, be sure follow the Wi-Fi initiative which could positively impact your PLEX neighborhood.  This review Public Wi-Fi Initiative Update with Scale-up Cost Roadmap for Hardware and Service covers where things stand.  It these of other groups sound interesting join the groups and keep and eye on coming events to see when the next meetings are if you are interested in attending..

There is a ton of information you can search for and read through in Location19.  Be sure you make use of the search options and that you monitor the Latest Activity Column on the left side of the Main page.  It's also a good idea to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site each day even if you don't check Location19 every day.

Please post your picture.  Step by step instructions can be found here How to Post Your Picture - It's easy!

I look forward to your participation. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Marian or me at 328-4271.

John
