Today's paper indicates that there were TWO shootings on Rugby yesterday afternoon! I drove by the area last night and there was a single police officer on the corner of Rugby and Arnett at the corner store (the location of the 2nd shooting per the D&C). So that brings my count to 3 shootings in less than 2 weeks!
It leaves me wondering why we seem to be so quiet about this? If a small, geographical portion of Pittsford or Henrietta or Batavia had 3 shoootings in 2 weeks (and a bunch more over a year) I think we would see a different response from neighbors, elected officials, police, etc. Here.... It just feels very quiet, eerily quiet. Is it that people don't care? Have we given up?? It is easier to simply ignore what is happening and hope and pray that it stops?
I am very interested in knowing what others think and feel about this.
