There has been a recent string of burglaries on S Plymouth Ave. Previously this post was dedicated to one specific incident. Due to the feedback we received and its effectiveness... Let's open this discussion up to include ANY AND ALL incidents in the area. Anyone else that would like to contribute information, I encourage you to do so! In the past couple of months we have accumulated a great deal of footage surrounding many of these crimes. Unfortunatley the footage alone doesn't always do the trick. We need to make everyone aware of exactly what is going on in the Community. This process does take some time to put together. One by one i will be compiling the footage and posting it here until these crimes stop. A lot can be learned about how these crimes are committed just by watching them. IT IS TIME TO TURN ON THE LIGHTS!
Here you will find the links to the videos I have compiled:
October 26th 2012 - 1155 S. Plymouth Ave - Theft -
January 29th 2013 - 1199 S. Plymouth Ave - Home Burglary -
February 8th 2013 - 1191 S. Plymouth Ave - Car Burglary -
I also want to give anyone the opportunity to contact me regarding setting up a similar system to watch over their home, business, family, and property. In many cases these systems cost less than $500.00 and take about a day to set-up. Once set-up they are maintenance free and can be accessed from anywhere in the world with the use of your smart phone. Contact me at ajdd85@gmail.com.
I WANT TO HELP YOU GET THE TOOLS WE NEED TO HELP STOP THESE CRIMES!

Keeping his pants up! One young man was hanging out in front of the Deli and I told him to pull up his pants. He did! I don't understand! It is so cold outside that I wish I could be in a giant bubble. How can they stand the cold on their privates? Doesn't the cold cause hemroids and varicous veins? My grandmother always told me, " don't stand on cement in bare feet and don't sit on cement." I didn't listen! I've been hospitalized for my legs. Have a great day! He will be caught!
At least he wouldn't be able to run away too fast in those pants.
Regarding what is and isn't advisable to post - that is, where is the dividing line between warning the neighbors of a thief and potentially libeling someone - why don't you all drop in to the PCIC (Police Citizen Interaction Committee) meeting Wednesday night? Bring it up with Cmdr. List and Lt. Hill and let them know in person how frustrated you are with this situation.
PCIC is held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM, at the Staybridge Suites, 1000 Genesee Street in one of the lower level meeting rooms - just ask at the desk
Thank you for your acceptance into Location 19. I can't wait to call 1070 Plymouth Ave. my home! I am so excited! The last four months working on Plymouth Ave has been a very gratifying experience. I have seen an area become a neighborhood. People are out walking the streets. When they visit the Deli, they always have wonderful things to say especially that their quality of life has improved. Quality of life will continue to improve if we as a neighborhood come together and not accept the talk from community leaders that "they are working on it.If they were working on it," it would not have gotten like this and the residents would not have become numb to their excuses, if they were acually working on it. Maybe actually return some calls! We need to stop being victims that are fearful of everything and are actually treated like the criminals. Its time to stop accepting the old excuse,"you can't do this or you can't do that." Tell me what I can do. This is your neighborhood. Fight for it!
Make your leaders accountable to you. Thats what they get paid for. The criminals belong in one place, JAIL!
I personnally think the criminals are to busy robbing us and then selling our goods so they can buy drugs than to even look at location 19. Only we can make a neighborhood vital! There should be no barriers. The residents deserve it and you have been snowed long enough to learn to accept it the way it is.
WAYS TO GO! and well said Mary! Be by next week for coffee and sweets!
Please do come by. I need to talk to you!
Gonna be a Wang Dang Doodle of a House Warming Party!!
Marion, I have given all this alot of thought. I understand there are different ways to look at this posting stuff.
If you think about it, we are not just warning neighbors of a thief, what about the future of the young man who is doing these acts. Today he may be breaking into houses, what will he do when he needs more? If we can catch him and set him on the right track now maybe he won't end up in prison. By all these excuses, profiling, libeling,
and the acusation of racism we are only enabling these young kids to ruin their lives. For me, this is not about putting the criminal in jail, (he is only a kid) its about getting him on the right track. Hopefully, that is part of the justice process. He needs to make right what he has done so he can move forward and live the American Dream.
Enabling him will give him a life of hardship and depending what road he takes, possibly death.
This is a Lawn Mower being stolen off of a maintenance trailer in October. The crime is pretty organized. They have a look out, a helper, and then the thief.

I don't suppose they could have been off to cut a lawn. Where was this, Tony?
