First Time

Hello All,This is my first time on here and I thought I would share a report that was released that expresses why going after foundation aid for schools is more worthwhile than going after closing the GEA although both are extremely important.  I was wondering what others thought.  Especially since I believe that funding is one of the major issues in keeping schools open, we should be fighting the state for the funding to ensure that we keep our schools.  Anyway, thought I would start a…See More

Hello All,

This is my first time on here and I thought I would share a report that was released that expresses why going after foundation aid for schools is more worthwhile than going after closing the GEA although both are extremely important.  I was wondering what others thought.  Especially since I believe that funding is one of the major issues in keeping schools open, we should be fighting the state for the funding to ensure that we keep our schools.  Anyway, thought I…

Hi Rosemary,

It was a pleasure talking with you this afternoon and I look forward to the Metro Justice Schools Committee meeting later this afternoon.

Now that you are a member, when you sign-in, you can post to the Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section and you can join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there.  You can also indicate your plan to attend events posted in the Event calendar by using the RSVP box in the opened event.  Check out A Brief Overview on Location19 Structure to get familiar with what's where.  In the tabs, Be sure to check out the "All Groups - Icons" sub-tab.  We are currently up to 67 groups and over 630 members.  Only the most recently added 20 groups are shown in the column to the right.

To join a group such as SW Education Forum, click on the group, then in the upper right of the group page just under the banner picture, next to your name click on +Join SW Education Forum and you are a group member!  Being a group member lets you post to the group and also permits you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.  Once you have gotten familiar with all the groups, if you feel there is a need to set up an additional group to meet your needs you can do that.  If an existing group can be adapted to meet you needs that may also be possible and sometimes preferable.  Check with the group creator or me.

There is a ton of information you can search for and read through on Location19.  Be sure you make use of the search options.

Please post your picture.  Step by step instructions can be found here How to Post Your Picture - It's easy!

It' a good idea to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site even if you don't check Location19 every day.  You can also find a list of new information posted by looking at the Latest Activity column on the Main page.

I look forward to your participation. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Marian or me at 328-4271.

John
