Event Description

Dr. Bernard Strenecky, an internationally acclaimed authority on service learning, will be speaking at 5 PM on October 28th at Hoyt Auditorium on the University of Rochester campus about his service-learning program “The $100 Solution.” The lecture and discussion is free and open to the public.

The $100 Solution program addresses the importance of grassroots community engagement. It focuses on small community projects that can be started for $100 and relies upon the will and experience of communities to determine their own needs. At the outset of each selected service project “The $100 Solution” asks the question "With this $100 bill what can I do to enhance the quality of life in your community?" The first $100 Solution program in the PLEX neighborhood will create a community health fair early in 2011.

If you wish to park on campus, stop at the booth on Wilson Boulevard and ask for parking for the $100 Solution lecture in Hoyt auditorium. You should receive a complimentary parking pass.
