Event Description

On Thursday, November 18th at 3:30PM NeighborWorks® Rochester is hosting a meeting with representatives from the New York State Office of Historic Preservation. The meeting will take place in our office located at 570 South Avenue. The purpose of this meeting is to share information with neighborhood groups on the resources that the State has available to preserve historic properties and historic districts. As you may know, the State recently made available a Historic Tax Credit for homeowners that live in qualified Historic Districts and census tracts. The program provides a 20% tax credit for up to $50,000 in approved repairs. The State will be on hand on the 18th to discuss this and to also share information on how neighborhoods can qualify to become a historic district. In addition to tax credits for homeowners, there are tax credits for landlords and commercial property owners.
