Event Description

Puzzled about how to create rewarding, living-wage jobs in our city?
Frustrated by big corporations that take our take tax breaks, mistreat the
workforce and resources, then move on?

Take part in a discussion that explores ways that we can work together to build local and sustainable worker-owned businesses.

-Joe Marraffino , a worker cooperative organizer with the Democracy at Work Network, will make a presentation
-Small World Foods and Once Again Nut Butter – these local, democratically-run businesses will answer questions and provide delicious samples of their products!
-An overview of legislative efforts in Congress to pass the National Cooperative Development Act
-Screen clips from videos featuring cooperative economics

So that the businesses can provide ample samples, please RSVP by email (MellodyR@aol.com) or through Facebook. ASL interpretation can be provided with 72 hour notice.

This event, while free, will gratefully accept donations to defray expenses!

Sponsored by the Rochester Organization for Workplace Democracy.
