We are pleased to announce that N.E.E.D Ministries [a 501 c (3) not-for-profit, faith-based organization] has developed a Job Training/Readiness Program.
We are reaching out to your company/organization because we need your help with further development of this program.
As you are aware, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the unemployment rate for Rochester rose 0.2 percentage points in August 2012 to 8.6%. For the same month, the metro unemployment rate was 0.5 percentage points lower than the New York rate. The unemployment rate for Rochester in August 2012 is at a new high. The number of people unemployed in Rochester in August 2012 is at a new high of 45,549.
In addition to the above; the Judicial Process Commission's Legal Action Project Director Susan Porter (Rochester, New York) noted, “the unemployment rate may be high for the population as a whole, but for those convicted of a crime the unemployment figures are closer to 3 percent”.
As we are in the processes of securing funding from traditional grant sources, we have been informed that in order to receive said grants, we must secure capitol from outside sources and not rely entirely on grants.
There are many places in Rochester, New York which offer job training and readiness however, what makes our program different is that in addition to providing “class-room” trainings, we are offering our participants the opportunity to work with Success Coaches. These Success Coaches are local business people, potential employers, church members and concerned citizens who are willing to offer a ‘one-on-one’ type of mentoring to our program attendees. We believe that the Success Coaches will be able to help to guide these potential tax payers towards success.
At N.E.E.D Ministries, we offer referrals for food, clothing and address any other barriers to success that our associates may encounter.
We have designed our program to serve 20 participants weekly (80 participants monthly which equal 1,040 potential tax payers yearly)! With your support of $75.00 per participant we would meet our monthly estimated need is $1,500.00 in order to successfully implement this program. That figure is based on our operating costs which consist of space rental, class materials, utilities and transportation (bus passes) for our participants. Our staff receives a very modest stipend to assist them with their cost of living needs. We need your support and sponsorship.
Please contact, Min. Ted H. Walker, Sr. at 585-315-5363 or via email at walkerconsulting@ymail.com.
It is our hope that you will help us to achieve this goal and help the citizens of our community achieve gainful employment.
Thank you in advance,
Min. Ted H. Walker, Sr.
