Event Description

The School 16 neighbors have been invited by Bolgen Vargas to an important meeting at the school to discuss its future:

Dear John Walton Spencer School 16 Neighbors:

Recent developments may result in a unique opportunity for the community, students, and staff of John Walton Spencer School 16. During planning for the expansion of School 16 to include Grade 8, we discovered that the building requires significant improvements immediately.  Three options are being discussed at this time:

Move all Pre-K through Grade 8 students to a different building.
Move students in Grades 7 and 8 to a satellite program in another building.
Move students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 to another school.

We would like to meet with you at School 16, 321 Post Avenue, on Tuesday, July 10 at 5:30 p.m. so that we can discuss the issues affecting the student learning environment, brainstorm ideas with you, and answer any questions you may have.

I hope you can attend. We are looking forward to discussing this important community issue with you.

Sincerely,
Bolgen Vargas, Superintendent
Rochester City School District
