Event Description

Protest Fannie Mae's move to evict a family of 11 from their longtime house in the 19th ward & render them homeless.
The family's belongings are scheduled to be moved out forcibly  at 10:00am.

While the Lennon-Griffin family has been notified that their belongings will be forcibly taken out of their homes at 10:00am, Take Back the Land Rochester and Lennon-Griffin family are calling for a protest tomorrow, Tuesday March 15, 2011, between 9:45am-10:30am at 9 Ravenwood Avenue demanding the property managers to stop the move & for Fannie Mae to withdraw the eviction & negotiate a reasonable settlement so the family can stay in their home.
These people are NOT squatters. We need to support a neighborhood family about to be evicted because of the cancer death of one of the parents and the questionable mortgage practices and laws that prevent people from negotiating to keep their homes. We are also trying to prevent homelessness for a large family.
Yesterday's event brought out 80 supporters of the family, and those who planned the eviction never showed up to carry it out. I hope to attend this morning and urge everyone I know in the 19th Ward to join me in some way--at least with your prayerful support.
