WHAT:  A Workshop Hosted by the SWCC Education Committee & 19WCA Schools Committee on:  
             Receivership and What It Means for

   Community Engagement in Neighborhood Schools

      The workshop will be facilitated by Mary Adams.

WHEN:  This Monday, August 10, at 5:30pm

WHERE:   The Arnett Library, 310 Arnett Blvd.

DETAILS:

  1. Learn about receivership regulations governing school based and community engagement
  2. What is a Community Engagement Team and how is it established? – status of School 44 including gaps and development of recommendations
  3. What are the rights and responsibilities of the Community Engagement Team?  -- develop strategies to ensure School 44 fully engages with timeline
  4. Action Item:  Draft of a letter of support for School 44 articulating expectations and support for community engagement under receivership

While anyone is welcome, the workshop will focus on building a Community Engagement Team with School 44 parents, teachers, administrators and interested neighborhood residents who are all encouraged to participate.

Pizza and refreshment will be served at 5:30 pm and the workshop will begin no later than 6 pm.
