Event Description

The SWCC Education Committee,  the 19WCA Schools Committee & the Arnett Branch Library are delighted to host the first School 16 Renovation Review with the RCSD and SWBR Architects

It has been a four year effort to get things moving but the wheels are finally in motion to renovate School 16 on Post Avenue.  During the next seven months the planning and design portion of the work will be done.  Come and see where the preliminary renovation plans stand,  ask questions and give us your thoughts.  You will also meet people who will be on the Building Advisory Committee from the neighborhood and the school so you know who to contact if you have questions and suggestions during the design phase.  You can also leave your contact information so they know interested people to connect with if community input questions arise.

The event will begin at 6:30pm at the Arnett Library conference room with a presentation by Steve Rebholz, of SWBR Architects and Michael Schmidt, Chief of Operations, at the RCSD.  The presentation will be followed with a round-table discussion of the project and of the vision we share for the return of School 16 to the heart of the 19th Ward.  Be sure to let parents of elementary age children in the 19th Ward know about this meeting.

We look forward to seeing you on August 24th.
