Event Description

Hello Urban Foodies! Try one of the newest places in the 19th Ward! We will be having dinner at 6 pm Friday December 19th at Best Place Cafe at the old Turn in Tavern Location (SE corner of Chili and Turner)

This is a brand new restaurant featuring soul food ranging from $5 for sandwiches, $8-10 for one entree dinners and $12-14 for combo dinners. Linda the co-owner also told me they have yummy deserts such as fruit pies, sweet potato pie, and one featured cake a day.

Sample menu items are All dinners come with two sides and a
Rib dinner (4 bones) $10 choice of bread (white brd or corn muffin)
1/4 chicken dinner $8 Choice of sides are:
1/2 chicken dinner $10 cabbage, lima beans, green beans,
Pepper Steak dinner $12 yams, collards (flavored with ham), fr fries
Fried fish dinner (Fridays only) mac and chesse, potatoe salad, mac
Turkey with stuffing $10 salad, butter rice, stuffing, black eyed peas
Sandwiches:
Chicken -5; rib-5 fish-6, turkey-5
Combo dinners (2 entrees 1/2 portions and 2 sides)

In order to make sure your are served in a relatively speedy fashion we would like to have as many of you pre-order as possible. We also would like to split the seatings into two in order to faciliate this so also please let us know if you would like to come at 6 or 6:30

Please note their regular hours are 11am-7 pm Wed-Sat though they may stay open a little later on the weekends.

Also please note that their will be no Urban Foodies Event per say on January 19th. Instead please participate in the Luminary Event being planned to honor MLK' s b-day and treat yourself and a friend from outside the neighborhood to take out from one of our fine restaurants in the 19th ward.
