19th Ward Community Association
Housing Committee
Saturday Meeting Notes
January 12, 2013
Final
The Meeting convened at 10:15am .
Present: John B , Donna S, Margaret A-L, Marian B
Margaret, who previously attended a Wednesday meeting, came to this meeting.
Margaret knows Annie B. whom we set the Saturday meetings up for. Annie was interested in getting speed humps on Sawyer St and Margaret was involved in the previous attempt to get speed humps on that street 10 or so years ago.
Margaret had used Peter's letter on some of her neighbors and would like more copies. We will send her a copy of it.
Margaret expressed interest in following up with tote inspection in her side streets. We also discussed the start-up of the code violations project. Margaret worked as a code inspector with the city in the past.
Marian has setup a new email for 19th Ward residents to contact with the Housing Committee. The Email is whoyougonnacall19@gmail.com and will be used in place of the J.T.house@hotmail.com .
We also discussed the MLK Luminaries and Margaret will try to talk to neighbors about celebrating the MLK evening.
Margaret will check with the past president Sawyer St Block Club to try to get her reinvolved. Her name is Maya something.
We discussed the 10am Saturday time slot to see if we could shift it to 11am and that would work out better for Margaret and for us. We will check with Annie on changing the time. Because of the disruption of the holidays we have been remiss at sending out meeting reminders.
We reviewed the Location19 web site with Margaret so she could review the Housing Committee minutes which are posted in the Housing Committee group. Margaret is already a member having joined in November 2011.
Meeting adjourned at 11:15 pm.

As I'm sure you know, the 19th Ward Community Association Housing Committee has been disbanded as of 3/14/2013 -Delegates approved the Executive Board resolution-.
In light of that, I believe that the Location 19 group should be renamed so as to reflect clear separation from the 19thWCA H.C. and none of the materials developed by members of said now defunct Committee used without consent.
Since Peter is dead, consent to use his material -to whose definition I among other contributed- will fall on the 19thWCA.
As to the materials I developed - Totes and Trash and Building Code Violations paperwork - I want to make clear that they are not to be used. On that note, I would like to thank all the people at the NSC for their hard work on the Totes and Trash project which produced cleaner, more appealing streets in the whole 19th Ward. Although the demise of the H.C. and hence the T&T project does not mean that I'll stop taking care of my area, it will now be on a personal basis and will have nothing to do with any purpoted housing committee.
