My husband got home from a long road trip last night around 1:30 am. Sometime after that someone walked up our driveway (which is pretty long!), checked out our personal cars (both unlocked), and then decided to smash the rear window of the rental car (locked) and take my husband's work book bag, which had some computer equipment in it from both of our jobs, among other items. Thankfully they left the suitcase with his clothes. :P

Moral of the story: Don't leave things in your car, even if it's locked!

I hope this information can help prevent this from happening to someone else.

I'm sorry about that incident, that the car was damaged and you and your husband were victims.  And violated.  It's not a nice feeling.

I wouldn't leave anything of value in the trunk, either, even if it is not possible to open it from the inside (some cars have a feature that can lock the inside mechanism).

                               Best to you,

Hi,

So sorry to read about your violation

May I ask which end of  the Boulevard this happened?

I live off  of Thurston Rd and over the years we have had our house shot at(the bullet is still lodged in my woodwork), tires slashed  and items not nailed down stollen from our property. It has made me very angry and unfortunately the police are never very interested.

I love living in the 19th ward and it saddens me when I see these things happening.
