I'm angry and want to know what I can do. Does anyone have answers?

I'm sorry I'm on a roll today, my anger is building up over all the unfairness in the world. It all started when I found out that GE pays no taxes and gets benefits from us the tax payers! See http://gothamist.com/2011/03/29/video_when_ge_pays_no_taxes_and_get... for more information. Also, http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/25/business/economy/25tax.html?scp=1..., and http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheat-sheet/item/ge-pays-no-taxes/irs/#. When I see all these budgets being needlessly cut because corporations are running the country and not paying their fair share, it makes me angry and frustrated. How do we get these tax laws in place? And how can we change them? What can I do?

I hate to make you even angrier but here is a link showing the growing income inequality in America.

If you had been able to make it to the Public Safety / Thurston Road Street Watch meeting you would have seen a lot of anger over the foreclosure at 9 Ravenwood and over foreclosure mills in general.  They are exploiting all the lawyers money can buy to play the legal system to swindle the poor, who have limited resource to fight back.  They are pushing foreclosures through overburdened courts and the police end up with the unenviable job of driving families out of their homes.

Doonesbury did a nice job of showing the metamorphosis to the dark-side that many climbing the corporate ladder go through.

Seeing Obama name Jeffrey R. Immelt, General Electric’s chief executive, to head the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness is certainly sad.  Talk about putting the fox in charge of the hen house.  I guess the only thing we can do at our level is try to elect honest individuals to office and insist they pass laws that keep them and their rich friends honest.  It will be very interesting to see what the foreclosure crisis brings out in local politicians and social organizations.  Will they rise to the occasion?

I'm sorry I couldn't attend the Public Safety/Thurston Road Street Watch meeting - sometimes the work at home just piles up too much and I have to tackle it before tackling outside problems. I read that it was quite a lively meeting - thank you for posting the info and photos.

Trudeau always hits the nail on the head and Doonesbury is the best for shining a light on societal problems.

The President appointment of Immelt was very distressing - I usually admire his appointments, but this one has me stumped - how does he think this appointment will improve anything for us common folk? I'm sure many people won't agree or like this, but we really do have class warfare going on in this country. Electing honest individuals to office might work at first, but it seems politics (and money)corrupts all.

I'm sorry for the rant - thank you for your response. Is anybody else angry out there?
