John,

Please get rid of these likes, comments, etc, that just clog up space on the pages.  Thanks,

Mark

I can't say I'm thrilled with the "Likes" myself Mark and judging by how many people have used them so far, one I think, it may not be a useful feature for us.  The fact that clicking a "Like" ends up putting a comment in the "Latest Activity" column could be a problem since it will scroll the useful entries on the column much faster if people start using the feature.

As I think about it "Likes" are one of the features on Facebook which on the whole annoy me.  It is probably useful in increasing traffic on a page to up the advertising revenue for sites that carry adds, which we don't.  It does serves or to bring attention to an item which might be useful to us.  One might argue that it may draw lurkers out of the shadows by giving them an easy way to get involved.

Does anyone else have some thoughts on this.

I tend to agree with Mark - IMO "Likes" clog up the comments and are annoying, but that's just my opinion. Warning! I'm still steaming from Wednesday night's meeting and may be posting more comments later.
