Rochester: On 9/2/2011 at age 82. Entered into heavenly peace surrounded by family. Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Patricia; children, Kathleen (John) Weinmann, Mary (Eric) Wangler, Bridget (Ted) Holdsworth, James (Tracey) Crowley; 10 grandchildren, John, Colleen, Gillian, Brendan, Benjamin, Katie, Libby, Matthew, Claire and Catherine. Beloved son of Irish immigrant parents, Margaret and James Crowley. Survived by sister, Betty Crowley and brother, Bill (Sally) Crowley. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Jill and Jim Kelly, and Karen and Les Weiner. Jim will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, and as a loyal friend.

Jim was the owner and operator of James Crowley Plumbing and Heating. The 3rd generation business has been serving the Rochester community for over 83 years, and will continue on under the leadership of James Crowley, Jr. Jim was an active member of the Rochester Irish community. He received the Irish Business Leader of the Year award in 1994 and has been involved in the St. Patrick's Day Parade since its inception. He grew up in the 19th Ward and his business remains there today. In 2001, he was awarded the 19th Ward Citizen/Merchant of the Year. He was a graduate of Aquinas Institute, Rochester Business Institute, a licensed Master Plumber, and a proud United States Army veteran. Jim was an avid antique car enthusiast and collector, and long time member of the Genesee Valley Antique Car Society.

Jim enjoyed creating wonderful memories. He loved his life and he loved his work, but most of all he loved his family and friends. His kindness and generosity will live in our hearts forever.

All are welcome to call at Miller Funeral Homes, Inc. (3325 Winton Rd. So,) on WEDNESDAY from 1:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on THURSDAY, at 10:00 AM in St. Anne Church, (1600 Mt. Hope Ave.). Interment to follow at St. Paul of the Cross Cemetery, Honeoye Falls, NY.

Mr. Crowley was a great member of our community and he will be sorely missed.  He was a great supporter of the 19th Ward Community Association and the 19th Ward neighborhood.  He was always the gentleman; may his kind spirit be an inspiration for future generations.
