Hello,

I recently joined the Location 19 website to make you aware of a college bar that is opening in my neighborhood.  I am a longtime resident on S Plymouth Ave and I just became aware of a gentleman that is trying to open up a college bar at 1155 S Plymouth Ave.  This is the same gentleman that has been buying up properties for students and evicting my friends and neighbors.  I do not think the neighborhood needs a college bar.  We will be inundated with drunk college kids on Friday and Saturday nights.  The city and neighborhood must stand up to prevent this bar.  It will only bring trouble.  The bar name is Plymouth Roc.  That is the same name of the gang that terrorized our streets years ago.  We do not need this.  We do not want this.

Sincerely,
Lucinda

I hope the opposition to your plan to open a bar/restaurant hasn't come to this.

What a shame! Don't let it get to you. Was it just your car or was it a general campaign?

I did not see or hear about anyone else's :-( It was the passenger front. The only one that can't be seen by the police camera on the corner.

Sorry about your car tire we had a customer truck broke into this happens all the time on the cottage st side of us.We will be installing more cameras on that side within  the next couple of weeks.I dont feal this has any thing to do with your plans our whole front door was kicked in Xmas eve, and the camera on the conore didnt catch it because it dont work most of the time and our complanning about it go un answered.

*** THE DATE OF THE NEW HEARING IS MAY 17TH *** Don't know the Case # yet but will follow up ASAP!

Keep us posted. I don't know if you've spoken to Judi, but I believe she has found another person who signed the petition under false pretenses.

Hello Everyone! The hearing is almost upon us! Just a reminder it is going to be Thursday May 17th at 9:30am. If you can be there, we would really appreciate it. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call at 585.703.6130 Thanks!!

Additionally... This blog has become quite cumbersome and I will be switching all of the new development posts to the "Frank-N-Steins Ideas & Development" post, feel free to see the project come to life there! Thanks again

I think you will get a good crowd of supporters.

I have recently received the letters that contain the accusations that were suggested previously on location19. I would like to warn everyone that there is some very strong language and accusations in these letters that follow.  I was hesitant to post them as they say some really nasty things about me, however when we first started this we made a commitment to be transparent and offer full disclosure. We cannot abandon full disclosure when the topic matter gets to be uncomfortable. I want to clearly state that I did not engage in any of the activities that these letters suggest and have made a reasonable effort to resolve these issues.

Letter #1

Letter #2

My first reaction was to personally adress the writer of each letter in the hopes of clearing up this misunderstanding. It then occurred to me that given the aggressive nature of these accusations i should check with the police to see if there has been a history of incidents at either of these locations.

The first letter came from 1154 S. Plymouth Ave. Unfortunately that address has had 18 calls for service in the past 12 months. Given the residents willingness to engage in behavior that so frequently requires police intervention, I feel that it is unlikely that we would arrive at a meaningful understanding in a civilized way. I am not willing to put my personal safety at risk.

I then inquired about 1036 S. Plymouth Ave. It turns out that 1036 S. Plymouth Ave does not exist. I would also like to note that the letter was not signed. I called the phone number provided. The mailbox did not indicate the owner. I left a message explaining the situation. It has been 3 days now and I still have not received a return call.

It is not my intention to start this conversation all over again. In the name of transparency and full disclosure I wanted to give everyone what I have been given. I thank everyone for their support and look forward to opening a strong healthy business on S. Plymouth. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Anthony,

I spoke with Dorothy Hall, president of PLEX, after last Thursday's We Care meeting which she, Nolia Brooks, and Barbara Warren also attended.  I asked Dorothy if she had seen the posts from Eula on Location19 and the first accusation letter you had posted.  She had not been following the online discussion but was aware of the accusations and the petition and was of the opinion you were not involved in racial slurs.  Her understanding was that one of the construction workers on your job was the one who had been using inappropriate language.  I have no idea if he was the person riding around on the bike.  I suggest you talk with Dorothy and see if you and she can touch base with the letter writers to get this cleared up and find out who the guy on the bike was. The last thing you need is someone working for you who is sabotaging the good relations you have been working so hard to build with the neighborhood.

One other piece of good news from that discussion with Dorothy, Nolia and Barbara is that Barbara is going to work with Dorothy and Nolia to get a PLEX website set up, and to set up a PLEX group on Location19.  I have been hoping this could be done to help publicize the PLEX Neighborhood Association and get more people active in the organization.

John:

Nether of these letter writers is credible. I'm sure the board knows it. I think at this point the best thing Tony can do is let the facts speak for themselves.
