New meat market opening on Thurston Rd.
If you've driven by the old clothing store on Thurston Rd. lately (part of which is now a Cricket) you may have noticed a sign posted that reads "Thurston Public Meat Market."
I stopped by today and talked to the owner. His name is Bill, seems like a nice guy. He told me that the store is going to have a full selection of meats, cold cuts, fish and even Spanish foods. The store already has some shelves lined with inventory (groceries, chips, etc.) as well.
Bill's just waiting on a couple of permits and should be open for business in a couple of weeks.

OMG how refreshing!!!! I sure miss Skip's at that location!! COMINGto the SW-Fresh meats, fresh produce, HOT DOGS, man we 'movin on up'!!! Gonna make some of these current locations step up their game!!!

He seemed like a nice enough guy.
Judging by the size and quantity of his cold meat cases, I doubt he'll be as big as a Skip's. But if he has enough of what we eat the most, I'm sure we'll be loyal customers.
Just glad to see something other than a barber shop or nail salon …
