RCSD Superintendent Search: Neighborhood Leaders Needed for Focus Group

Dear Friends,

RCSD Commissioner Cruz is heading up a 'neighborhood leader' superintendent search focus group session and I'm passing details on hoping for your involvement.  I am also serving on the search committee, and am heading up two of the other focus groups - one composed of education advocates and the other of labor union leaders and members.  I am still seeking participants for the labor union focus group - if you are a union person and want to participate please contact me at 317-2367. Thank you.

Mary Adams, Arnett Blvd, RCSD School Board Member-Elect

Subject:Neighborhood Leaders - feedback on RCSD superintendant - Tue. Dec 13, 4pm, 131 W. Broad St

The RCSD School Board is in the process of searching for the next Superintendent and is in the process of holding open public forums and focus groups to gather community input on the qualifications of the next Superintendent.

Jose Cruz will facilitate a special focus group made up of Neighborhood Leaders. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 13 at 4:00 PM, at the Rochester City School District's central office - 131 W. Broad St.

They are particularly interested in getting your views on the following questions:
1. What are the qualities you are seeking in the next superintendent?
2. What should be the superintendent’s top priorities in the first year?
3. What collaborative relationships would you like to see the superintendent cultivate and how should she/he communicate this to the community?
4. Additional Comments.

Please email Jose Cruz your RSVP countyleg@hotmail.com or feel free to contact Shanai Lee at 262.8308. They want to make sure they have sufficient space.
