19th Ward Community Association
Housing Committee
General Meeting Notes for Posting
March 22, 2012
(Final)

The Meeting convened at 7:15pm.

Present: John B, Peter E, Lee K, June R

Tote report: Peter and Toni did all of district 18 plus Thurston and Arnett They saw progress. One street only had one tote left out.

June and Lee took down seventy posters taped to light poles on Chili from Fillmore to Westgate. These where red ones from TFHNY.org. They contacted the church in Gates that put these up. They were going to send people out to remove them. The adhesive tape used to put them up take the paint off the polls unless it is very hot out.

Peter talked to Adam McFadden and 96 Chili is to be demolished. 82 Chili is to be worked on. At 70 Chili Peter cleaned the yard. 366 Chili had 3 people come up from Maryland because of letter sent to them by the Housing Committee. They came and cleaned the yard.

Lee's volunteer for setting up Google Docs missed his second appointment with Lee this Thursday for picking up spreadsheets for setting up the online forms. Will need to find some other solution.

It was decided a letter should be sent to the Mayor asking for list houses taken over for back taxes and on demolition list.

Kenwood is a mess. We need to get someone to write up violations on that street.

47 Wellington: check into it. There are $18,000 of back taxes owed . Theresa Tauson aka Maria Tauson is the owner.

Schedule of next meetings:

  • Day meetings:We will meet Wednesday 3/28 at 11am, 4/4 at 11am, then every other Wednesday at 11am.
  • General Meetings: Will continue on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7pm, 4/26 is the next meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 8:15
