Housing Committee Minutes – September 2014

Present:  Annie Brown, Donna Sarnacki, Mark Sweetland, John DeMott, Deb Leary

August minutes were approved with one correction – spelling of JoAnn DeMott’s name

Deb reported on status of the 6 properties we are focusing on:

1046 Genesee – as of 9/8, owner met with inspector Josie Rivera and said they would be applying for a zoning variance

19 Genesee Pk. Blvd. – got a permit in 2011 to modify porches with new windows and siding

81 Ravenwood – 10/13 – inspector asked owner to get a permit

255 Sawyer – 9/9 – violations were added – we need to ask the City to pressure Key Bank to move on this

337 Sawyer – 9/9 – vacant and secure – there is a case for high grass and exterior violations

54 Weldon St. – closed cases for over-occupancy and 3^rd floor occupancy.  Deb reported that, per complaints by neighbors, it was over-occupied again and needed to be checked

Deb reported that the U of R has appointed student ambassadors and one will be assigned to liaison with housing committee.

We will invite City Inspector Dan Arena to our next meeting.

Deb will work on a positive postcard, and a letter to the U of R student housing people asking for a meeting.

John will research 337 Sawyer ownership status.
