Housing Committee Minutes – April 2015
Present: Deb Leary, Harlan Ost, Donna Sarnacki, Joann DeMott
Minutes for March were approved with one deletion: mention of the Land Bank because none of us could remember what it meant.
The meeting was short because of low attendance and no one from the NSC was there to give us property information.
Deb brought a property to add to our hot list. 1125 Genesee St. (corner of Spruce Ave.) has gravel-surfaced the side yard and 4-5 cars are parking there. City site shows it is a 3 bedroom with room for one car to park in front of the garage. Owner’s website lists it as a 5 bedroom with off-street parking.
Harlan asked the Delegate’s Council members to let him know of any properties in their Districts that are of concern. One that was mentioned is a vacant on Genesee St. across from St. Monica’s. Joann was able to let Harlan know that the owner is arranging financing to develop it as a grocery store. Harlan will get back to them with that information. The Genesee St. Business Association keeps an eye on Genesee St. properties in the commercial district.
Review of our Mission and Goals was tabled until next month when we hope to have more members present.
Next meeting – May 14th, 11:00 AM at the NSC Office, 923 Genesee St.
Respectfully submitted by Deb Leary
