Roof Repair Program - Owner Occupants

Financial Assistance 

The City of Rochester is providing financial assistance for roof replacement of 136 owner-occupied single-family homes in the city.

The assistance covers the cost of roof replacement and other related repairs such as gutters, downspouts, roof flashing and minor chimney repair up to $12,000. The Owner Occupant Roofing Program was created to ease the financial burden of new roofs for Rochester residents. Interested participants are encouraged to apply starting January 25, 2016.

Funding Rounds

The total cost of the program will be $1.7 million split up into two rounds of funding

• Quadrant based: The first round of funding will be quadrant-based where a total of 75 pre-applicants will be randomly selected from the City Neighborhood Service Centers. Senior citizens will make up 30 percent of those selected. The pre-application period runs from January 25 to February 25, 2016 with the drawing to be held February 26, 2016.  
• Citywide: The second round of funding will be city-based, in which names will be selected from a city wide pool of applicants. The open application period for this round will run from April 25 - May 26, 2016 with the drawing to be held May 27, 2016 at a central location to be announced.
