“Urban By Choice” is the service mark of the 19^th Ward Community Association (19WCA) that signifies its residents and neighborhood businesses pride in their community and its commitment to promoting diversity in all its forms. “Urban By Choice” is where we live and who we are.

The 19WCA is seeking original art work that incorporates the “Urban by Choice” service mark and themes of community and cultural, economic, ethnic, religious, and racial diversity to produce a porch banner. The primary objectives of this project are to celebrate the 19WCA’s 45^th Anniversary, to continue its campaign to promote the positive aspects of city living and to beautify the 19^th ward in a manner that would complement the residential character of our community. Proceeds from the sale of the porch banners will help fund the activities of the 19WCA. This project also serves as an opportunity for young artists with no previous experience to demonstrate their ability to work with community groups in the creation of an art project with the benefit of their work being publically displayed for many years to come.
