We knew when we moved into the house that we had problems with the foundation of our garage. In the last couple months we've discovered that's because there are groundhogs living underneath it. They're very cute and very destructive. Does anyone have any recommendations on a company that removes them? I don't want them killed, but if we're going to save our garage they have got to go. I've been calling around and its a pricey endevor ($400 range) so I thought I would check here for advice before making a decision. We have tried several "repellent" strategies" to no avail.

Have-a-heart traps?
wow, I didn't know that we had groundhogs here in the city.... good luck on this. I'll be interested in the responses you get.
We could loan you our dog. She chased one up a utility pole one afternoon last summer. We didn't know they could climb poles, but it seems they can if sufficiently motivated. It stayed there until some time after dark (I checked until about 10:00 pm and it was still there at that time). It was gone the next morning and we haven't seen it since. She's good about making raccoons move on also.
We hired a service to remove the groundhogs, with have a heart type traps. So far they have caught three possums and the groundhogs are staying safely in their hog hole. We'll see what happens...
