On May 21, 2013 Mark Sweetland and John Boutet visited the U of R Old Growth Forest near Merlin Drive.  This was their 3rd visit of 2013 and 3 weeks after the group tour.

The May Apples were in bloom everywhere.

A frog posed for us.

The frogs had been busy.  There were polliwogs everywhere.

There were many new flowers to look at.

But the ones from last time were gone.

We saw some pretty bugs like this guy and tons of mosquitoes!  I was being eaten alive by mosquitoes while taking this picture.  Fortunately the bites were not very potent and I had no signs of bites the next day.  Be sure to take mosquito repellent if you go.

Our visit on the 21st was well worth it.  The pictures posted here are just a small part of those taken.
