This is a test to see if I can select everything in a document from Open Office and paste it in this page. The document includes a table. I have not found a way to create tables with the editors provided on this Ning site.

For what is pasted below I "Selected All" in the Open office document, did a Copy (Ctrl C) then put my cursor below this explanation and Pasted (Ctrl V). The document had been created in Open Office then saved in MS Word 97/200/XP *.doc format from open office. It was emailed then opened in Open Office.

We are all growing and planting and gardening people, so join with us and share. Share your seeds, share your knowledge, or even share your yard. Specify size of a part of your property you are willing to allow someone to borrow for their garden (ie. Someone with more sun!) There will be an opportunity to share knowledge in workshops being planned at The Seedfolk Store. Watch for their announcements.

There are two lists, “Available” and “Wanted.” Just join the SW Garden Group, and get involved. Dream on … you always wanted some strawberries … Or irises, or even horseradish! You can pick up seeds/plants for free if the owner has an excess!

It is a good idea to have a few carriage returns below the point you plan to enter the pasted table. If you didn't and want to add text below the table, go to the HTML editor, scroll to the bottom of the HTML code, insert <p> below the the last entry and type some text followed by a </p>. You can then switch back to Visual Mode. While the table lines don't show up above, when you go back to Edit Mode you will see them.

How effectively copy/paste or drag and drop work going from a word processor or email to the Location19 editor can be influenced by the browser you are using as well as which program you are coming from. Here I was using Firefox. While in this case everything in black above, which was the complete content of the .doc document, came in without formatting problems, in many cases I have found that copy and pasting part of the document at a time avoided problems. This is particularly true if parts are centered text and other parts are left justified.
