I am the owner of DancEncounters dance Co-op in the Kee Lox Business Park on Tremont St. DancEncounters is an all-purpose venue used by local dance teachers to teach all ages and all styles of dance.
We are home to Dunwoody Dance, which apart from producing many great young dancers including many who made it into the School of the Arts, also has a dynamic young performance team. Dunwoody Dance teaches tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop and modern dance to young people from age 3 through high school.
Roc-City Dance Council holds classes for young adults at DancEncounters in tap, lyrical, jazz, hip hop and Ballet. Roc-City draws many of their students from the local colleges, and also includes other young adults from late teens up.
Frances Hare (formerly with Garth Fagen and Arthur Murray) teaches African-Caribbean Dance, Belly dance for Fitness, and Salsa.
Antoinette Giancursio, former pro-am National Latin champion, teaches West Coast Swing, Salsa, and Hustle.
Mike Osborne, winner of 4th place in the National Rising Star Ballroom competition in both smooth and rhythm categories, teaches Ballroom.
I have been teaching social dance for 20 years, and teach regular classes in Argentine Tango, Ballroom and Swing.
We also have 3 regular social dances every week which are open to the public -- Ballroom on Monday, Swing on Friday, and Argentine Tango on Sunday.
